Save Glen Abbey would like to thank the incredible volunteers and supporters who were determined to save Glen Abbey to protect cultural heritage, sport, the environment and sustainable growth for future generations.

-having a lemonade stand to donate funds 

-placing SGA cards on cars during the Canadian Open

-conducting interviews with the media

-participating and conducting Facebook lives

-attending and donating items and booths for the fall and spring Home Shows

-creating communications for the team (flyers, graphics, mass emails, petitions)

-providing content for the SGA website

-meeting with elected officials

-attending the “State of the Town” breakfast and “Community Leaders Round Table” meetings

-honking to support the rally at the Glen Abbey gates

-attending the SGA trivia night

-storing all the SGA materials used at Home Shows

-educating friends, family and workplaces about the campaign

-being a business that was a depot for SGA signs 

-sharing a graphic that indicated a workplace supported SGA

-attending and delegating at Town Hall meetings

-selecting top reasons to save Glen Abbey at the Jenkins’ Home Show

-wearing animal costumes during rallies-attending the first year celebration for the Cultural Heritage designation 

-creating boards of the proposed development that were used at Home Shows

-delivering and offering SGA signs door to door

-cleaning up Sixteen Mile Creek with Oakvillegreen Conservation Association

-attending and offering ideas at SGA meetings

-placing a sign on a lawn, a tree, in a car or in a window!

-attending the meeting with MPPs and staffers from the Provincial government

-answering questions and supporting SGA on social media

-making connections with community organizations

-being an organization that jumped on board to support the SGA campaign

-delegating for the Glen Abbey Motion at the Halton Regional Council meeting

-hosting and attending SGA meetings

-creating the infamous “Save Glen Abbey” sign (a group of amazing students!)

-being nominated for a “Community Spirit Award”

-recruiting people for the SGA team

-wearing the SGA mask, shirt, and pin to raise awareness

-delegating at Council, Planning and Development and Heritage Committee meetings-creating content for social media

-ensuring mass emails were deployed effectively-attending the meeting with MPPs and Ministers

-attending Urban Structure presentations and the Town Wide Heritage Review

-attending Ontario Cross Province Town Hall on OMB Reform Meetings

-attending OMB/LPAT Interim Control By-law Hearings

-attending Osgoode Hall for Superior Court on Demolition and the Appeal

-attending Queen’s Park for a meeting with the Housing Minister

-attending Case Management Conferences

-writing to and visiting with Golf Canada representatives

-donating funds to maintain the SGA website

-sharing the mass emails with friends, organizations and family

-visiting the Golf Hall of Fame to retrieve documents from the archives
